چکیده
the emergence of the aids epidemic and the increase in the incidenceof HIv infection are still a health challenge for the 21st century. the way the epidemicis being confronted and how it will be in the years to come will be of fundamentalimportance on the discussion of public health, ethics and human rights. the diverseaspects of the epidemic are here discussed, including the possible interventions necessaryto its control. Changes in the decision-making process for the allocation of resources,both for public health care and research, as well the expansion of the ethical debate andthe need to improve the standard of living of all individuals, are imperative conditions inorder to face this very serious public health problem.
